I spent some time trying to scrape my attention along the whole rigging thing, but my attention for that specific thing has run its course, and I'll likely be repulsed by the idea to get anywhere meaningful for a period. In the meantime, though, I learned a bit about sculpting/otherwise shaping a surface, in the form of the cave itself.
I noticed that during reviews, these words get overshadowed by the images themselves, and it's a bit hard to communicate what exact image I'm referring to during review, so I'll be numbering them from now on.
Starting with #0, I started with a plane, that I scaled up by 25 times (I think.)
(I have the other objects next to it for size reference here.)

Next, I tessellate it by subdividing it 6 times, before triangulating it (to ease complications when shaping.)

A cave usually implies a ceiling of some sort, so I just copied the first plane and raised it a bit.

The best part about the whole sculpting thing is that I didn't even need to look anything up for this, bypassing the ass pain that is the random Youtube video or stack exchange post.

This is a bit of a 'one, two, skip a few' moment, as there are at least 3 things that I did before bothering to screenshot this: mesh randomizaiton, bending, sculpt grab, and some others that I likely forgot the names of. Here, I start the process of clasping the floor and ceiling together at their edges at varying heights and points.

Here, you can see the two separate halves fully intersecting (without being fused.)

Here's what the inside looks like in its current form. Notice how it biases to a downward slant.

At some point, I'd like to fuse these two halves to a single mesh, though I'm still having trouble figuring out whether or not I like the look of how the two clip currently.

I still need to add some more changes to the geometry and topology, like pillars, stalagmites and stalactites (because they look cool), as well as a few others probably.
For this week, though, this is all of the work that was done.
