It is Thursday. I forgot I had a followup appointment until 30 minutes before I have to leave, so I have 30 minutes to write the draft of this post.

The holder which secures the gem is supposed to have 16 opposable protrusions over 2 sides with 4 segments each. I think this would go without saying, but I'm not too fond of calculating 64 manual displacements of segments, so I tried my best to avoid that.

I tried so hard to do that, that I wasted at least a good day and a half trying to use mirroring for armatures. The answer to that problem is in some dropdown menu near the top left of the screen. This didn't work at first, aiding in confusion. The answer to that problem is the fact that the armature's origin was placed incorrectly.

This made the mirrored version appear inside the original, which is bad.

After all of that, I present the only screenshot relevant to this post:

The top parts are more or less fine, but the bottom parts need tweaking. You can see that the 4th segment is in no way aligned to the tip of the actual needle appendage thing.

That's what I did this week.

It's not much, but if I put much more here I'd be lying to you, as well as myself (probably.)
