Some folks are coming over on Thursday, so not only do I need to clean up my bedroom (where you need to find the bed before you can sleep in it), I also need to do enough things to warrant this post, all before that time.
As such, my descriptions will be terse, and the content sparse (compared to baseline).
This week involved more things involving Blender.
Half-following a tutorial, I made a humanoid-type character:

It is very simple, with few polygons. I didn't have time to gift them with hands.
Now that a simple model has been made, I wanted to control them in an efficient way.
This would involve rigging the model, so Vives walked me through the process, as well as the weight painting that followed.
Now that the concept of weight painting is fresh in my memory, I agree with Vive's statement that doing this well is tedious and time-consuming. Thankfully, Blender can do most of the heavy lifting with its automatic weight painting, which I can then edit to my liking:

Shown above is the lumbar weight paint conveniently generated by Blender.
